Job Summary:
Monyasambe Technology Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems in our petrochemical and mining facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our industrial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Instrumentation Installation:
- Install, calibrate, and maintain various instrumentation devices and control systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct routine maintenance and respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve issues with instrumentation and control systems, collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams as needed.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all instrumentation installations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all instrumentation work complies with relevant safety and industry standards, following established protocols and procedures.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel, to support overall process efficiency.
- Testing and Calibration:
- Perform testing, calibration, and validation of instrumentation devices to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Emergency Response:
- Participate in emergency response activities, including identifying and addressing instrumentation issues during critical situations.
Qualifications:
- National Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Instrumentation Technician in petrochemical or mining environments.
- Strong knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Familiarity with industry-specific instrumentation devices and equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic industrial environment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Certification in instrumentation or related field is a plus.
